Description: This webinar focuses on the connection between school site selection, nearby residential development patterns and implications for school system transportation operations and costs. The speakers will introduce audience members to the issue of school siting and transportation and discuss findings from their multi-state study, which was supported through STRIDE funding. Attendees will have access to the research team's education module, which will be hosted on UNC's website at http://schoolsiting.web.unc.edu/. In addition, attendees will also learn how to use the school site selection decision support tool, referred to as the School Travel Cost Calculator, which estimates public and private transportation costs for potential school sites.
