The Council on Linkages Between Academia and Public Health Practice
(Council) has adopted new Strategic Directions
to guide its continuing efforts to help improve public health practice, education, training, and research.
The Council’s Strategic Directions for 2011-2015 center around four objectives:
Fostering collaborations between academia and practice within the field of public health and between public health and healthcare professionals and organizations;
Enhancing public health practice-oriented education and training;
Supporting the development of a highly skilled and motivated public health workforce with the competence and tools to succeed; and
Promoting and strengthening collaborative research to build the evidence base for public health practice and its continuous improvement.
Within these objectives, strategies and tactics are detailed that support achievement of the Council’s aims.
