MAPP Network

An online forum for MAPP communities

Many of you may have received an email a few months ago telling you about PARTNER - a free tool to assess and evaluate collaboration in public health.  This tool is funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and can be found at www.partnertool.net.  PARTNER is designed for practitioners with the intention to increase the capacity of the practice community to use this kind of analysis (social network analysis) to evaluate their collaborations.  We are working to get the word out about PARTNER to meet this goal of increasing capacity.

A number of MAPP communities have already used PARTNER and we are sure that it is a great fit for the work that you do to collaboratively address public health issues in your community.  Below you can find more information about PARTNER, including a number of links to resources.  We are hosting free web demonstrations of PARTNER on March 1st and April 5th - see more information below.

Feel free to contact me, Danielle Varda, at danielle.varda@ucdenver.edu, or the PARTNER team at partnertool@ucdenver.edu.  The PARTNER postdoc, Jessica Retrum, at Jessica.Retrum@ucdenver.edu is a terrific resource for information and technical assistance.

With support from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, there is now a free resource available to help you evaluate these partnerships and demonstrate progress to your stakeholders, funders, and partners. You can find this tool at www.partnertool.net.

PARTNER (Program to Analyze, Record, and Track Networks to Enhance Relationships) is a social network analysis tool designed for public health practitioners to measure and monitor collaboration among people/organizations over time. To use the tool, first register at www.partnertool.net and then customize your survey to collect data from members of your public health community collaboratives.

To find out more:

The purpose of this announcement is to spread the word about this resource and continue to build capacity in health departments across the country to do this kind of evaluation (without requiring resources to buy software or hire an analyst).
